Dominique Simonnot is a journalist and she follows immediate trial hearings for Le Canard enchaîné. What can be gathered about our times and its real from the trials and, particularly from these "mockeries" where cases are rushed through in twenty minutes ? First, the booming of the sexual offense, found in ass groping, asone of its new versions. The sentence, "one month in prison", puts a number and tries to fill the incommensurable that separates the man and the woman -who in court, receives the designation of a victim.

Further, Dominique Simonnot notes that the verdict does not hold the final word anymore. The virtual trial on the web rejudged at every possible opportunity Dr Muller, accused of the murder of his wife, although judged and found innocent in court. This questions the ability of the law to act as a limitation of jouissance – the vote approved by popular majority testifies to a new form of fascination with the criminal figure.

At the polar opposite of this "extraordinary" justice lies the fate of the madman, the psychopath who is the conclusion of the journalist's argument. She notices that madness, not being sheltered by psychiatry anymore, finds itself sentenced without being recognized.
