There is no other politics of the symptom than that of its creation.
Read abstractManuel Fernández Blanco talks about the paradox of our epoque whose aspiration to pass all of the real into the symbolic by reducing it to quantification, produces a lawless real. We have moved from a « capitalism of production », framed in the Name-of-the-Father, to a « capitalism of the drive » that devoures everything. The disorder is the paradigme of this discourse in its treatment of subjective suffering. Psychoanalysts in the 21st century will have to demonstrate the subject of the disorder, of the anxiety, injecting meaning into a subject who has cut the cost of the unconscious, so that the subject's singular symptom can be formed. In this way, psychoanalysis in the 21st century demands that we be Freudian at the start of our relationship with the patient while the symptom is forming, in order to be Lacanian in the direction of the treatment.
